This is the second time in the history of film Two Hollywood unions have been to strike. They are the Screen Actors Guild and The Screen Actors Guild announced on Thursday that their strike would begin Wednesday midnight, and that it would affect to the actors to strike. Both Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild want more pay, better working conditions, and protection from artificial intelligence, or AI that would take their jobs. SAG is also asking for actors who submit self-created auditions to receive compensation. A website was created in support of this strike SAG states that they want “a contemporary contract that takes care of the current concerns.”
A number of famous faces from Hollywood including Academy Award winning actor Jamie Lee Curtis and Renner have expressed their support in support of the strike.
