"Euphoria" Actress Sydney Sweeney's Father Walks Out in Discomfort After Witnessing Her Bold Scenes on the Show

The father figures of Sydney Sweeney’s world did not approve of her role as a scandalous character in the popular series “Euphoria.”

Sweeney plays high schooler Cassie Howard in the risque show, that often includes scenes of sex, drugs and pain as teens navigate friendships and love.

“Yeah, I didn’t prepare my dad…at all” Sweeney was a bit giddy during her appearance in “Sunday Today with Willie Geist.”

“I mean how do you bring up a conversation?

Also, when I talk to my dad it’s usually not about work…we talk father-daughter conversations.”

The actress of 25 said that her dad decided to see “Euphoria” without telling her and then her grandparents joined in a shocking way.

“My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out,” Sweeney described.

In terms of the women who were in her life, the mother of Sweeney as well as her grandmother seemed to be very supportive of her.

“White Lotus” star said that her mother did not feel “prepared” to see Sweeney perform in sexually explicit scenes because she frequently visited her daughter during “Euphoria. “Euphoria” set.

 

“She knew the story and I talked to her a lot about it…my dad didn’t,” she explained.

In the meantime, when Sweeney’s dad and grandpa were unable to see her perform in “Euphoria,” she noted that her mother was an “big supporter” and a “big fan.”

 

“I bring her usually all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra,” Sweeney said.

The role of Sweeney as a character in “Euphoria” has sparked controversy with viewers concerned about the sexually explicit material and the way its director, Sam Levinson, has performed nude scenes.

In the past, she shared that some people online would take screenshots of her naked scenes from “Euphoria” and would tag her family members on social networks.

 

“My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair,” she declared during an interview for British GQ this year.

 

“You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school and then an audience that does the same thing,” Sweeney said.

 

Even though she received the fact that she received two initial Emmy nods, for her performances in the HBO series “White Lotus” and “Euphoria,” Sweeney spoke out about the experience, and said the vile acts will not stop her from starring in sexy scenes.

 

“I think it’s ridiculous. I’m an artist, I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more,” Sweeney stated in the moment.
