Since her debut on screens in the role of Hermione Granger, the main character in Harry Potter, Harry Potter franchise, Emma Watson has been the fashion icon, but her new look is leaving fans wondering what they are doing.
The 33-year-old has been busy than normal on Instagram in recent months since she’s been pushing various new ventures she is engaged in, like the official launch of Renais Gin that she co-founded along with model and actor sister Alex Watson, 30.
In one of the promo images shared on social media this week in which the Little Women actor can be seen sporting a Loewe powder blue dress that is part of the French fashion house’s Spring 2023 ready-to- dress collection.
Although it’s fashionable, it has been a source of debate within her Instagram users.
The dress features a gathered hem as well as an unsymmetrical, pointed neckline.
“This dress is defying physics,” @tristarochelle said and @destinyinreallife said: “Someone make the dress make sense pls.”
Many fans have made Harry Potter-themed jokes. @abhishek_go writing “The dress said wingardium leviosa” which was a an allusion to Watson’s famous quote in the film’s first wizarding movie.
“Someone can you explain to me the spell she employed to hang her gown. It’s probably advanced Charms. Are you sure it’s in the restricted section? I’m in need of this spell!” @_0312kria1120_ added.

Some people questioned the rationale behind the dress. “How do you fit that dress onto your body? Do you have it hanging over the ear?” @megadeathpayton__ wrote.
“The dress appears to be floating. I’m trying understand why.” @desiree8190 commented.
Others thought that the dress resembled an umbrella upside down, some thought it appeared similar to an actual pillowcase.
