Nijjar is currently wanted in at a minimum of four NIA cases related to Sikh radicalism. This includes an attempt to assassinate an Hindu priest in Phillaur located in Punjab. The NIA had also announced the cash reward of Rs10 lakh to the suspect in July.

Nijjar, who is the head of a pro-Khalistani arm called Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and was the one responsible for pushing the terrorist agenda and secessionist ideology of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s ‘Sikhs For Justice’ (SFJ). When he first established the status of a rebel entity associated with terror-related actions in India Pannun appointed the representative of his separatist organization SFJ in Canada to promote the “Referendum 2020 campaign”.
